Baldwin Youth Basketball
Baldwin Youth Athletics is dedicated to fostering growth and development among young athletes in the Baldwin community. Our mission is to provide high-quality youth sports programs that emphasize skill-building, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We aim to create a positive environment where children can enjoy sports while developing important life skills.
Welcome to BYA Basketball Academy
We are excited to announce the launch of the BYA Basketball Academy, a developmental basketball program focused on skill building, competition, and growth while creating a strong foundation for the future of youth basketball in Baldwin.
Divisions
1st/2nd Grade: Boys and girls will participate on separate courts.
3rd– 6th Grade Girls: 3rd/4th grade and 5th/6th grade will participate on separate courts.
3rd– 6th Grade Boys: 3rd/4th grade and 5th/6th grade will participate on separate courts.
Schedule
Sunday afternoons/evening at the Primary Center beginning November 22nd and concluding on February 28th (no sessions on 12/20, 12/27, and 2/14).
Each BYA Basketball Academy session will help players learn, compete, and have fun through skill development, fundamental instruction, basketball drills and stations, competitive games and challenges, and organized scrimmages. The season will conclude with a 3-on-3 tournament.
School Partnerships
BYA will also collaborate with the Baldwin
Junior High/High School Boys and Girls Basketball Programs, with coaches and players periodically attending sessions to assist with instruction, mentor younger athletes, and help create a positive basketball experience throughout the season.
News and Updates
If participation numbers and player interest continue to develop during the season, BYA will explore additional, age-appropriate opportunities for game competition that support player development. These opportunities may include nearby rural basketball tournaments, participation through the Baldwin City Recreation Commission’s competitive basketball league, and other suitable game experiences. Additional costs may apply for these opportunities.
